Casey Carrington

M.Ed., CCC-SLP  ·  Founder, Speak Outside the Box

My work began in speech-language pathology and has grown into something much broader, a commitment to understanding the many factors that shape a child's way of being: their nervous system, relationships, family system, and environment.

I believe that when we look beyond compliance and concrete skills, and instead support safety, connection, and regulation, children unfold in ways that feel authentic and truly meaningful. Every offering within Speak Outside the Box has been born from what families have shown me they need, and from the courage it takes to lean into something different when traditional approaches fall short.

At times, families need a place to pause, reflect, and receive thoughtful guidance as they navigate the complexities of supporting a child. The consulting containers below were created to offer that kind of support, spaces where we can slow down together, understand what a child's nervous system may be communicating, and explore practical ways to strengthen connection, regulation, and learning within the environments that matter most.

Parent Coaching

The Connection Container

Parent coaching for neurodivergent families. When we begin to understand how a child's nervous system shapes behavior, learning, and connection, we may begin to feel different. We begin responding to what the nervous system is communicating rather than only reacting to behavior.

Clinical Support

Integrated Clinical & Consultative Support

This track is centered on working closely with the child's full care team rather than primarily with parents. Through direct observations, provider education, and ongoing collaboration with behavioral therapists, teachers, and other service providers, this work brings nervous-system-informed thinking into the spaces where the child spends their time. Support is structured as a monthly container that reflects ongoing attunement, encourages shared understanding across environments, and provides consistent clinical presence across home, therapy, and school.
